The 38-meter tall statue of the Jesus Christ is one of the most magnificent monuments in the whole world. The designer behind this spectacular monument is Heitor da Silva Costa, a Brazilian and created by Paul Landowski, a French sculptor. It took about five years to construct this giant statue and finally, it was inaugurated on 12th of October 1931. Standing tall on the top of Corcovado Mountain, this statue has become the face of Brazil. The statue is a symbol of the warmth with which the Brazilian people receive the visitors, i.e., with open arms.

Great Wall of China, China 

The Great Wall of China, built across the northern border of China, in order to protect the Chinese empire and states from the invasions of various nomadic groups, is a train of fortifications. Made up of brick, tampered earth, wood, stone and many other materials, this wall is the largest monument created by men in the whole world. It is visible from the space. Thousands of people have claimed their lives to build this magnificent monument.

Machu Picchu, also known as Machu Pikchu, is an extraordinarily beautiful wonder. As the history reveals, the Incan Emperor, Pachacútec, had created this city on the mountain in the 15th century. Lying halfway up to the Andes Plateau in the Amazon Forest, above the river, Urubamba, this place is very beautiful. For about three centuries, this place remained lost. After the defeat by the Spanish, this place was vacated by the Incan people due to the smallpox outbreak and then was rediscovered in 1911 ,by Hiram Bingham.

Petra, the capital of Nabataean Empire, reigned by King Aretas IV (from 9 BC to 40 AD) is situated on the verge of the Arabian Desert. The city has amazing tunnel constructions as well as water chambers created by the Nabataeans, who were considered as the masters of the water technology. This place also houses a theatre which has room for 4,000 people. The place is a perfect example of the Middle Eastern culture. The Palace Tombs of Petra have a Hellenistic temple facade which is 42 meter high on the El-Dier Monastery. This wonder is worth a visit.
