Canada is a country that offers a wide range of experiences to be lived to its inhabitants and visitors. It’s the perfect combination between well preserved wilderness and booming metropolitan cities, rich in culture and open-mindedness. As such, it was difficult to name just ten interesting attractions, among the world-famous destinations, but we managed to compile a list and we hope you’ll enjoy this glimpse over Canada’s beauty!

1. Niagara Falls
A veritable natural world wonder, surrounded by a succulent wine trail and a taste for adventure. Niagara Falls are among the most popular attractions in Canada and this certainly isn’t a surprise, if we think about the fact they’re one of the most impressive waterfalls on Earth! While they’re spectacular on their own, imagine that during certain festivals, like the New Year’s Eve, they’re also enriched by astonishing light shows.
2. Vancouver
Vancouver’s heart and souls is so vibrant you can’t just pass through it and not be left spellbound. It’s among the most popular cultural hubs in Canada, each year hosting numerous festivals, art fairs and great musical concerts. Museums, galleries, whale watching spots, deep sea fishing, rafting and a visit to the botanical gardens should suggest you that there's never a shortage of activity in and around Vancouver.

3. Nahanni National Park
Protecting a portion of the Mackenzie Mountains Natural Region, Nahanni National Park is one of the main attractions in the Dehcho Region of the Northwest Territories. A spectacular whitewater river is featured in the park, flowing among stunning canyons. There are signs of the first human occupation of the area dating back from 10,000 years ago. The park is also very rich in sulphur springs and an alpine tundra, hosting a wide range of endangered species of birds and mammals.

4. Calgary
The largest city in Alberta, Calgary has many interesting attraction to offer to its visitors, from its festivals to its music and film production highlights, an eclectic mix of restaurants, bars and public squares, not to mention alluring malls, the Calgary Zoo, the Telus Spark, the Telus Convention Centre, the Devonian Gardens or Prince's Island Park. The life of pre 1914 Alberta can then be visualized in the Heritage Park Historical Village of Calgary, featuring vehicles like the steam train, the paddle steamer and the electric streetcar.

5. Montreal
The second-largest city in Canada couldn’t just be excluded from the list of the most popular attractions in the country. Montreal is full of interesting highlights, ranging from its 50 National Historic Sites of Canada to Notre-Dame de Montréal Basilica, the Bonsecours Market, the controversial Olympic Stadium and its underground nightlife. Montreal is also regarded as a UNESCO City of Design.

6. Banff National Park
This is Canada’s oldest national park, dating back from 1885. The highway will transport you directly into its magnificent forests, giving you a taste of the wilderness inside it. It is composed by 6,641 square kilometers of mountainous terrains, alpine landscapes, glaciers and ice fields. A spectacle for the eyes!

7. Churchill
Situated along Manitoba's coastline, Churchill is internationally renowned for its ecotourism opportunities. Millions of tourists come here each year to admire polar bears, ringed seals, beluga whales and birds like the snowy owl, the tundra swan, the American golden plover or Harris's sparrows.

8. Quebec
Its French heritage makes Quebec set apart from most of Canada and the USA. It brings that European feel to the American continent. The largest province in Canada hosts important literature events, as well as art fairs, musical concerts and theatrical exhibitions. It is internationally renowned for “markings” like Cirque du Soleil, Céline Dion, and Jacques Villeneuve.

9. Whistler resort
Canada's greatest year-round recreation destination and the host for the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games is what Whistler resort is, not to mention the number one ski resort hotel in North America!
10. Ottawa
Ottawa will offer many attractions to its visitors, no matter their age or cultural curiosities. From the Parliament Hill to the National Gallery of Canada, the Canadian War Museum, the ByWard Market, the UNESCO Rideau Canal or the chance to engage in some whitewater rafting and kayaking sessions on the Ottawa River, there must be something that will suit your tastes too!
